The Industry Parent's Reality
This industry can feel impossible to navigate from the outside.
Believing in your child is the easy part.
Working out how on earth you actually get them in front of the right people, without falling for the wrong ones along the way? That's the hard bit.
The Inside Track is the hard bit, made simple.
THE INDUSTRY PARENT'S STORY
How The Inside Track came to be.
When Industry Parent first launched, I started offering one-to-one sessions to parents trying to navigate this industry. The feedback was immediate. "I've learned more in thirty minutes than I have in the past year of trying to figure this out on my own."
But it didn't take long to notice that every parent was asking the same questions, and I was giving the same answers.
"I don't know where to start."
"I'm not from this world."
If I had a pound for every time I'd heard either of those!
So I broadened the sessions out. How to self-tape. How to take shots that agencies actually want to see. How to format a CV properly. Parents would leave armed with the right tools and our recommended agency list, ready to start reaching out.
And that's where the problem began.
Reaching out to agencies individually is laborious. So laborious that parents would come back to me months later, completely overwhelmed, having barely actioned any of it. They were back to square one. Their child was no closer to being seen.
They also wanted me to keep going. To review their tapes once they'd done them. To give feedback on their final shots. To check their CV before sending it.
At the same time, I was hearing from agency friends that they often had very specific gaps on their books, but didn't want to open up their books as a whole. Where could they go to browse and scout new faces and talent quietly, behind the scenes.
And then there were the messages on social media. Parents asking for more. Just wanting to feel informed. Wanting to feel empowered. To understand the ins and outs of an industry that has felt closed off to them for too long.
Every piece slotted together.
The Inside Track is all of those conversations, all of those frustrations, and all of that demand, built into one place. A complete pathway for parents serious about doing this properly. And a single, professional space where agencies can find ready to go talent, without the chaos. Safe in the knowledge the parents are already well informed.
This is the platform I always wished existed.

Giving back
Every Inside Track booking gives back in two ways.
We are very proud to have partnered with the National Youth Arts Trust (NYAT) to donate £10 from every sale of The Inside Track Premium to the charity.
NYAT is a small but mighty charity founded in 2013, working to widen access to the performing arts for young people aged 7–25 whose economic circumstances would otherwise hold them back. They provide bursaries to cover the cost of drama, dance and music training, run youth theatre projects in areas with little existing provision, and offer mentoring from industry professionals.
We're proud that every sale of The Inside Track now plays a small part in helping the next generation of talented young performers get the opportunities they deserve.
We also offer a small number of bursary places each cohort, fully free, for families facing real financial barriers. Applications are read personally and places are awarded, so the process is simple but it isn't a formality. No judgement and no awkward conversations, just a quiet email. If that might be you, get in touch.
Because every child deserves a fair shot, not just the ones who can pay for it.
